Dave Herzog Marionettes

is presenting a build session at

SCOTT LAND SCHOOL

The Fabulous Dave Herzog

Dave Herzog has been involved in the art of puppetry since receiving a toy marionette from his father when he was four years old. A fulltime professional puppeteer for more than 40 years, Dave is well-known to audiences throughout the Chicagoland area.

Dave was a mentor of Marc Dunworth - our foundation is named in his honor and memory. This internship and subsequent friendship occurred during Marc’s time in college. Working with Dave allowed Marc to create course credit towards his degree in Fine Arts and pursue his love of puppetry and theater.

Make a Wooden Marionette with Dave Herzog

Dave Herzog, operator of Dave Herzog’s Marionettes of Chicago will guide students through the intricacies of wooden marionette construction. Students will receive a complete kit allowing them to create their own hand carved wooden marionette. Each kit will contain a full set of patterns, that along with Dave’s guidance, will enable students to explore the myriad possibilities of classic wooden marionettes. Every kit will also contain Dave’s handmade costume for your marionette.
