MDFPA - TOYS for TOTS
We made our annual visit to the collection facility to deliver the wonderful donations provided by some very special folks attending our Visit with SANTA event.
We met an extremely gracious lady by the name of Maribel Garcia, Civilian Coordinator for Region 7.
This lady is a force of nature!
We expected to make the drop-off, say hi and goodbye and grab some breakfast. She along with a Sergeant, who was present when the doors opened, greeted us with big smiles, a helping hand and offered us a tour of the facility!
Maribel introduced herself and like a little elf from Santa’s workshop enthusiastically presented us with a walk around of the facility, explaining the how’s, why’s and where’s of the entire operation. Mountains of toys, bikes, collection boxes and bags - tagged, sorted, stationed and prepped for distribution!
Age appropriated sections to make sense of who should receive these gifts.
Maribel shared her own personal story with us and we with her. It was a very moving moment 💖
