MDFPA and GREAT LAKES REGIONAL PUPPETEERS POTLATCH
What the heck is a “POTLATCH” ??
The Great Lakes Regional Puppeteers Potlatch promotes the art of puppetry by bringing puppeteers together by hosting a weekend of family-friendly puppet shows and workshops, exhibit, potpourri, and punch brunch held in Pokagon State Park, IN.
That will be enough for starters
Day 1
After check-in and getting settled…
There were displays, a reception, Scotch Auction, a very silly Breakfast Show by Nate Puppets, and a Tribute to Nancy Henk
One of the original folks who “discovered” this location for future Potlatch gatherings.
This was just the first night.
Day 2
Workshops by our own Kathy Valdivia, Dave Herzog and David Quesal of Chicagoland Puppetry Guild. Guy Thompson (Punch Professor), Linda Sigismondi, Brad Lancaster, and Nate Puppets.
Trading Post, performances by Fever River Puppeteers, then Nancy Sanders, Puppets with Pizazz. Anne Newman and family - Puppetfolk Productions, presenting The Dragon Who Lived Downstairs New Squid on the Block presented by Barefoot Puppet Theatre
Followed by a film: Bob and Judy Brown Retrospective
Then to top off the evening’s entertainment - POTPOURRI a sometimes wild assortment of imaginative puppet vignettes, skits and various bits of silliness. It’s wonderful!

Day 3
The last day of Potlatch is comprised of a Punch Brunch, a nicely prepared breakfast with a variety of options. Afterward a Punch and Judy puppet show (not necessarily a historic version), ultimately followed by long goodbyes, safe travels and “see you next year”.
